repair (service) manual for the 1984 50HP 4cylinder engine and where I
can get one??

Go to the mercury parts site (mercurypartsexpress,com, I believe), enter your serial number, and the book will be in the parts list somewhere. You can also order it there, or get it at your local mercury dealer.
