I have a 16 foot starcraft - I want to put 2 pedestals in the back area - problem I am trying to think through is this -

Pedestal must be bolted to the floor - but once the floor is in place you can not get underneath it to bolt - is there any solutions to this?

If I bolt the pedestal to my 3/4 plywood and then put the plywood in place - I won't be able to carpet around that area very well.

Just throwing this out there cause I can't seem to figure this out.

They make screw in bosses that can be drilled into the floor through carpet and ply and then fasten your pedastol to it with botls they hold very well and I have seen them hold up to 700 lbs, from inside roofs and raffters. Just an option to look into.

Those Garelick's are nice, but at $5.01 each,. I plan on using stainless t-nuts when the time comes.

^^^^^^ those go under the board........

Hey.... did you know you can get a zinc toggle cheap as compared to the stainless garlic piece and they come as large as 1/4" but need a 5/8" hole...... they will do the trick just may not last as long :(

Toggle bolt picture only these are small ones http://www.buy.com/prod/hillman-fas...q/listingid/45640848/loc/66357/204627212.html

And according to the HD web site they sell a similar product to the garelic ones except these are zink and do not require a huge hole http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs...Id=10053&ci_sku=100341860&ci_src=14110944&cm_

Now as an idea ....... hoy about using the zinc ones and using plastic dip..... I bet you will come out ahead in the long run...

Sorry, I was under the impression that he was replacing his deck plywood. Yeah, you have to plan ahead with t-nuts.

I just added some thickness to my deck boards underneath the areas where the pedestals would be and then used galvanized lags bolts. Probably not the best solution but works for me.

Thanks - I went with the T nuts - It takes more planning because you have to know exactly how you want the seats placed before you finish the floor - but in the long run it will work out fine.
