Barato don't get me wrong, I like fast. I like racing of many kinds, including boats. I just don't believe its smart for an idiot like me to go that fast. Way too many possible uh-ohs. Waves, wind, no roll bar, no seat belts, no brakes, you get the idea. I am always amazed at the drag boats but they have safe cockpits that will eject.
KInda like the saying, " If your gonna be stupid, be smart about it"
Like I had said I have a fast bass boat but I only use full throttle if caught in a fast moving t-storm. I fish smaller lakes so speed does me no good on larger water, waves see to that.

i was more just engaging in humorous musings about the psychology than defending the "need" for fast boats. i personally have no interest in going much over about 25 on the water, at least the water i boat on. when i was 16 & living in FL, i watched a guy racing a small tunnel hull hydro when one sponson nosed into a wave, boat came up n over, and killed driver. made an impression...i understand speed lust [currently on my 5th sportbike] but there are too many variables on the water.
