Right. I wouldn't disagree with that. Of course if you put SuperTech in a Yammy you will not have an oil related problem, either.

I have probably messed with outboards for over 60 years. The ONLY oil related problems I have seen are all from using incorrect mix, no oil at all, or oil not intended for outboard use by the makers of the oil or the outboard.

Right. I wouldn't disagree with that. Of course if you put SuperTech in a Yammy you will not have an oil related problem, either.

The only oil I wouldn't use is the Citgo because it's made by that communist Venezuelan Hugo Chavez, but otherwise I'm sure it's great oil, think I'll stick wityh my Pennzoil. Good Luck!

And yours Pennsoil is made with Hugo's base stock, good luck with your feel good campaign.
I suppose you only buy "AMERICAN" oil. LMAO

If you feel that a brand name and value are important. I say pennzoil Marine is hard to beat at $12 a gallon.
Supertec maybe the very best deal. Somebody big makes this oil for Walmart.
I dont think Walmart wants to stand behind having a bunch of power heads rebuilt either.
Mechanical failer of a motor can still happen with $100 a gallon oil.

I too have to have a brand on my oil so its Pennzoil for me.

Personally I could care less what name is on the bottle or the price to a lesser extent. What I want is an oil that performs the best in the application which I use them.

I got a deal on a case of name brand synthetic blend this summer. Almost immediately I noticed a lot more smoke and the motor was showing signs of loading up while trolling. Even had oil residue running out of the exhaust ports at the end of the day. I went thru 2 gallons before I threw in the towel and go back to what I was using.

Did my motor suffer any damage, doubt it. Did the oil perform to my expectations, no. Does that make it a bad oil, no. But it didn?t meet my needs and that?s all that matters.
