Few problems with my electrical

First I have 2 spot lights in the boat. One on the front of the center console aluminum top and one on the other side.they are hooked up with the positive wire running to the fuse panel and the ground connected to the bolt that the light is mounted with. The aluminum frame of the center console has a aluinum mounting plate in the inside of the center console that has a ground wire running to the fuse panel. The rear light was working last yeAr.the front one isn't working but the rear one does. If I run a ground wire directly to the front one it works. I don't understand why it's not working. Any ideas? I have a battery switch that I wanted to be able to switch from house bat to starting bat and I must have wired it wrong. I have the fuse panel,engine, and both battery's running to the switch. How should I wire these to the switch?

I meant to also say I want the front one wired like the rear one. And I wanted to post pics of everything but it won't let me.

You can't run chassis ground like you do on a car. Very bad juju! It will cause electrolysis and galvanic corrosion. You need to run grounds directly from the battery to to the accessory either directly or through a bus bar. The current grounds are probably corroded and that's why the lights don't work currently.

Would you happen to know anyway to hide wires from on top on the center console to inside the console?

most people drill a hole and use a rubber hole grommet to protect the wire.

Not sure what you mean! Do you mean drill a hole thru the frame? Anyway you could send me a pic of the grommet that you talked about. Thamks
