Before I came over to the Bright Side I had purchased a 1986 Hurricane Tri Hull to renovate. After spending hours on iboats researching renovations I realized the errors of my ways.
Not soon after I was fortunate enough to be able buy the Mariner.
For over a year I have listed the Hurricane on C/L on and off. Last week someone finally called and came to look at it.
Real nice guy that has bought a similar Hurricane and wanted this for parts. Wanting this boat to disappear and having SWMBO on my case, I was going to take about any offer. He offered $195, all the cash he had. He didn't have a TV with him so I countered with 50 down and 200 when he picks it up. He said yes and if for any reason he didn't come back the down payment was mine. A done deal.
Today he came and towed it away.
Now I know there are masters of donors here at iboats and particularly in the Starmada. I know I pale in comparison.
This one cost me $400 and after a year I sold for $250. Not the greatest, but it would have cost me over $100 to haul the boat to the dump.
The good news is I was able to salvage a ladder, winch, winch strap and a steering wheel for my Starcraft. Also an anchor light, bow light, horn, anchor, rope, trailer guide on's, a switch fuse panel and a good sunbrella boat cover for my Lone*Star.
I still have one more FG to get rid of but the Crosby was a great first boat for the family and it's fate will not be one of chain saws, sawzalls or dumps. 73Chiefton already has the motor.
I'm a Tinny, its been zero days since I had my last FG project. Just wanted to share.
