This is a glass fiber from cloth. It's red because I've been marking my cuts with a red Sharpie. I believe it came from me wearing sandals and it worked itself into my foot as I walked on it. Mind you, this was not stiff resin coated fiber, it was just from cloth.

It felt like I had a splinter but I couldn't see it and neither could my wife. After I carved a layer of dead skin off the bottom of my heel she could see it and pull it out.

It wasn't all that painful and didn't get infected, but it just goes to show what this stuff can do so be careful.

I don't normally work in sandals, but I'm keeping the cloth in my basement. I went downstairs the other night to cut some cloth for use on the following day. I slipped my sandals on and didn't think twice about it.

That's why I hate fiberglass, especially insulation. Only thing more sneaky are little pieces of wirebrush, got one in my forearm once, just below the wrist and it crept deeper and eventually disappeared...only to re-emerge from my hand a few months later.

I thought I was the only one that got glass and wire brush pieces in the feet. :(

I made the mistake one day of wearing shirts and crocks.

Don't wear shorts and crocks. Nuff said.

Of course, the wife tells me it will be better when I'm old and bald.

Hah!:D I'd hate to ruin a perfectly good flapper on my calloused feet.:D

Nah it was no big deal. I just noticed it felt sore and it felt better as soon as it was out. I was just amazed at how it worked itself in there.
