Re: Fiberglass vs. Aluminum!

Rest day for me today (well, I had to go to work really early, so I'm calling it that)

As of Tuesday PM...

Most Miles
PMC 11.45, Jas 13.68

5K
PMC 24'54" (with baby stroller)
Jas 24'46"

10K
PMC NA
Jas 50'30"

I do believe that all three of these races will be pretty close in the end:eek:

By the way, in case you guys were wondering:

PMC and I are using the Nike+ gear to track all our runs and stuff, pretty cool actually...

Re: Fiberglass vs. Aluminum!

Thanks Bro! Enjoyed the challenge.!!! And, I think its fair to call it a draw when only 6 seconds over 9 miles separates the two... Nonetheless, much like the 26.2 stickers that you see on all these cars, I came up with a little something to commemorate the accomplishment and to snub all 21 of you who voted against me:

And, FWIW, I think we did learn a few things...

That tin boats can blow out rivets and glass hulls can develop blistering... especially middle aged ones..

Back to boating fellas...thanks for humoring us with our little challenge...

Re: Fiberglass vs. Aluminum!

Should have had a side bet:

If he lost, Jas' next SC HAD to be glass....

If Patrick lost, he HAD to buy a tinny....

I figure win/win, PMC has the room to add 1 to the boat works facility, and a small 12' tin fishing boat qualifies & would be good to have around anyway. And of course there's the shot of Jas sitting in a glass SC cutting & grinding away. Big smiles, big big smiles!:D

Truth be told, I'd have been luck to survive the challenge, let alone been competitive, so:

WELL DONE Gentlemen, Well Done!!

Congrats, hope the blisters all heal pre official competition date.

Re: Fiberglass vs. Aluminum!

Hey, apologies to my metal boat buddies for letting ya down. I gave it what I had and PMC had just a bit more on his legs, he's good man!

OK, so we had no real wager on this but as an act of good faith and sportsmanship I'll head over to my buddy Kevin's place and legitimately help him to rebuild/repair his glasser. (PMC I would have given you a hand on yours but that's a bit of a drive for me, so next best I suppose). While I'm there I'll limit my hazing comments of glass=garbage and will in no way harm that American. Cool? Cool.:D

OK, we are loading up to head to the Tough Mudder here in just a little while. About this time tomorrow we'll be at the starting line preparing for battle;)

Have a great weekend guys!
