Hey Guys, I am wanting to add some things under the consoles of my bass rig. I am wanting to fiber glass in some wood blocks to mount things to such as the fuse block (held in with one screw WAY under the dash by factory), Speaker boxes, etc..

What is the best way to do this? I know I need to glass and resin the wood to seal it.... Will sections of 2x4 pressure treated be ok to use? will this glass "kit" work

Re: Fiberglassing Question

Looks like a pretty good kit, I think 2x4 may be a little overkill and I would stay away from any pressure trated wood if it's still green. Some 3/4-5/8 plywood should do, I would just lay a piece of resin saturated heavy cloth down and bed the block of wood onto it, then place a saturated strip overtop and down the sides in each direction leave about 4-6" to extend onto the deck, no need to use treated wood it's all sealed in and very strong.

Re: Fiberglassing Question

I would just seal the wood with resin, and then use some 3M 5200 to glue it to wherever you want to put it. Easier than glassing.

Have a great day,

Rob.
