My boat was pulled this weekend. Second year of owning the boat and this one was pretty sad. A lot of rain and then some other commitments left us not too much time to go out, (but we did enjoy whenever we we on it).
Boat was professionally winterized and I am now creating a "punch list" of things to do. 1st item. My lines are filthy and not sure how to clean them. One end was in the water and is not "gunked up". Before I store them - anybody have any idea how to wash / clean them?

Re: Filthy line

I would put them in a 5 gallon bucket of mild dishsoap and warm water and let them soak for a few hours, may be just a little bleach. Then stretch them out in your driveway and hose them down really well with a little pressure. You want to try to rinse out all of the dirt, grime and soap. Then wet them fully dry before storing...

Rinse off the gunk, throw them in a big pillowcase and toss them in the washing machine.

SimpleGreen and HOT water. Swirl it around with a stick. Might want to soak it some. Usually even a mooring pennant will come clean in two or three rinses.:)

Power wash. Takes some skill and results in wet toes.

Mom was pressure washing her car once, and decided to spray the splashback dirt/gravel off her bare foot with the pressure washer. Ended up spraying a layer of skin off too.

Careful with those things!

The pillow case/laundry bag idea takes care of that ;)

Pillow case and washing machine is easy enough. Next dumb question. Do you throw the whole thing int the dryer?

Lay them out in the driveway, sun dry. When coiling them back up it will make them pliable again.
