I had an ongoing problem with low power on my 1987 Johnson 50 HP motor. Took it to another mechanic who took carbs apart and found where previous mechanic had miss installed gaskets resulting in carbs sucking air and caused low power at wot

Re: Final Solution For Low Power

Don't ya just love a good mechanic
At least the 2nd one was decent. I have a problem finding decent ones around here, and don't feel like playing musical mechanics until I find one. I had a great one, but he sold his business and I haven't seen him since. Anglers Sports Center, Mike Faulkner. If only I knew where he went.
Thanks for letting us know what came out of it, and proving that just b/c you had a mechanic do it, doesn't mean it was done right.

Just one more reason more "mechanics" should take advantage of the training open to factory and independent techs from AMTECH.
