Finally Running but.... 25 Johnson

Well thanx to this forum im a Outboard tinkerer. I actually got my 1975 Johnson 25 electric start to start up and run but...some problems still. I cannot get it to idle very well.. I found one bad cracked coil and replaced it along with new points and condensors. It has great compression. I put stabiliser in the fuel along with some sea foam additive. I havent had a 2 stroke for years but this one idles (well it doesnt) any tips? Perhaps a carb overhaul is required? HELP PLEASE Thanx all Mike

If it hasn't been running in a while then a carb cleaning/soaking should on the list next. rebuild it and then set the needles to their origional positions to see if it runs correctly. If not go to the top secret file and use those settings as a start and increase or decrease from there
