It all depends. You left out some vital info:

Where is the boat located? A boat that has lived it's life in a dry climate will have less chance of rotted stringers, floor, and transome. My old '73 Gulfstream is still solid and dry as a bone here in the desert of SW Washington State.

How many hours are on the engine/outdrive?

I've heard that Wellcraft are good solid boats. But even the best built boat is not worth it at that age if it is soggy inside.

FWIW, I just paid $5000 for a '93 Reinell 20' open bow that my sister has owned since new and is in perfect shape with all the yearly service/winterization records.

Welcraft is a good name. A 4.3 is good power in that size boat. However, given it's age, that's a premium price. Is the boat in matching premium condition?
