Re: corrosion removal

My transom didn't look terrible while in boat, mostly I suppose because of the angle iron plate from previous owner, but after pulling it, looks awful and falling apart! Firm believer in when in doubt rip it out after seeing this.

Re: corrosion removal

Well between the heat, work and sick wife haven't got much accomplished. Even with AC in my shop, its hot, poor little unit can't hardly keep up. But still better than working outside!

Going to try to work on corrosion erradication and epoxy on the interior hull tomorrow, and hope to make some picture worthy progress!

Thanks to all for the tips and advice.
Iboats is great forum full of loads of info!
Glad I found it.

what don't kill ya will make you stronger, or something like that. this string of 100+ days has about taken the starch out of me but made good progress the last 4 days. taking it easy today...gave the steering wheel a bath LOLOL

Re: corrosion removal

Got sidelines by wife having surgery.

Been doing small bits here and there. Years of deterioration of the original floor and transom keep washing more crud out of drains, no matter how much I hose out, shop vac and scrub. Am getting very close to sparkle and shine tinny bottom!

Plan on giving good push this week to get all drainage done and all my pitted spots epoxied so I can move forward!

Hope all is going good with other projects!
I know cptmills same boat project is real inspiration!

Stay cool starmada!

Re: corrosion removal

Sorry to hear about your wife, mine went through a tough spell 2 summers ago and put everything on hold to take care of her, she's a keeper:) thanks for the compliment, just hope I can live up to the Starmada standard, it's been a long time coming but so far I am pleased with the results. Looking forward to seeing your progress as well!!!
