Hi everyone this is my first boat and could use your help. Its a 1976 glastron tri-hull with a 1978 70hp seahorse motor. It had been sitting since 2006. Got it home put it in the water put new gas new plugs fired right up. It idles like a champ. I let it warm up and then I lower the warm up lever I put it in gear and give it some gas and it boggs and quits. It fires right up again and idles great it boggs 2 to 4 times and then it takes off like brand new motor. I can run around the lake like nothings wrong. I put it back in neutreal and the problem starts over again. One person recomended adding sea -foam gas treatment please help thank you:)

Re: First boat

After sitting that long you really need to order kits and rebuild the carbs. likely there is varnish or trash buildup.

Re: First boat

That's a great motor. Unfortunately there's no shortcut to a thorough carb rebuild when it's necessary. Just be glad you didn't have to replace a bunch of $$$ ignition parts to get yours running like I did with my '73.
