First boat

Hello everyone i just bought my first boat it is a 1991 bayliner capri
Im having trouble with the motor though. Its a 1991 force 70hp outboard motor the past owner would strap the motor and stern so the motor wouldnt pop up when engaging reverse but im sure there has to be a bracket i can install to prevent this. Anyone can help?

Yes there should be a latch that engages when placed in reverse. What is the motor serial number so we can look parts?

Suggestion is to put your year, HP and serial number of your motor in your signature line. Always easy to find.
