Last month I bought a smaller CC to teach my 14 year old son to operate a boat. Didn't want him starting out with the Bay Boat and 140 HP.
Found a 1981 aluminum hulled Center console. 15 ft with a 48 SPL. Need ed a little work but nothing major.
Good floors, carbs needed a little work so they were rebuilt. Replace fuel lines. Replace the 12 gallon tank with smaller ones. A little clean up and add a bimini.
So we had nice weather today so we got it out on the river. Idle was nice an steady all the way out through a long no wake, Got clear and pushed the throttle up and this little thing jumps up on plane. Ran down the river and she took the wakes from a couple pontoons really well. came off plane and idle was still smooth.
Had clear river and ran a max speed run. GPS showed 35 but the nose was getting bouncy. Trimmed down a touch and she was running smooth at 32 mph. Didn't even have flutter from the top.
All in all a fun little boat. And only had about a cup of water in the bilge all day.
