First time propeller removal?

First time removing Prop, Can some one give me some Info on things that may need to know or maybe a link that could be helpful? Its a 91 350 Merc Alpha 1 drive. Also i do not have key for lock on prop( did not come with when i bought boat) I was told i need to have jacket cut off to gain access to the bolt. Thanks

You will have to have the lock cut off.
Other than that just use a block of wood to wedge under the cavitation plate to hold the prop the remove the nut. After taking the cotter pin out..
Grease the shaft up good before putting it back on.Use a New cotter pin..

And exactly what cotter pin is on an Alpha drive (of any vintage)???
