My power cord has deteriorated due to electrolysis and I ordered a transducer extension (15') with a new power lead on it. (Item XT-15U with power lead for $24.95 plus shipping from LEI.) I was planning on splicing the new extension into the power cord under the center console where it was spliced when I installed it originally, but got to thinking.... how do you splice the transducer cable? Or can you splice it? It seems to have an adapter for the transducer wire, but my original cable comes from the transducer all the way up to the power lead plug in.
I guess I'll have to try and connect the crumbling power lead into the new extension connector somehow with solder......
