hmm my ford is a 99 but the factory trailer wiring was trashed when I bought it..... (truck had 289,000 miles then)

It just might have had it at some point .... That's the first truck I've ever had that was new enough for a plug n play rv plug tho... my previous trucks you had to wire battery, brakes, heavy ground wire, and I suppose backup lights yourself... I guess it's an old vs new thing....... btw I did go over n check dad's 98 chev n it DOES have the backup lights wired too....

Now back to the O/P.... I highly doubt that Nissan ever expected the pathfinder to ever tow anything with a 7 way rv plug.... I would be really surprised if there was a plug n play rv plug option w the battery, brake, heavy ground, and backup lights.... that said it would be really easy to cut off the existing plug, wire up 5 flat and run a single wire to the backup light circuit behind a tail light.

Etrailer sells a 7 pin plug in harness for most Pathfinders ;)

well POO!....... I'm not used to having to back track soo much....I said I would be surprised... I AM!...

Soo upon reading on those harnesses it looks like they truly ARE plug and play tho it appears that there is an issue w nissan reversing 2 wires on some of the vehicles requiring modification of the harness sometimes.. Still tho all the wiring is there and some even already have the fuses and relays in place....

ALSO I did finally actually LOOK at the 4 wire to 5 wire adapter mentioned earlier.... NOT what I was picturing... That would be a fine way to do it... use dielectric grease on the connection and simply ziptie the old plug up under the bumper.......

Dang hard to type with both feet in my mouth.... :embarassed:

I put a 4 to 5 pin adapter on my Pathfinder when I got it a year and a half ago and it works great. The install took about 30 minutes.
