If it is in "good" condition, then why are you asking if it is worth re-doing (whatever that means).

Unless we've had some psychics sign up recently, it might be hard to get good opinions without seeing the boat in question. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Anytime it's "time to sell the boat", then there's thing to do and things to let the next owner do. But again, without seeing what we're dealing with, it's gonna be hard to tell you which is which.

If you can do it yourself, it may be worth fixing it. If you need to pay someone to do it, it may not be worth it. I guess it would depend on how good condition the boat is in and how extensive the console repairs and rewiring is.

Your idea of a fresh coat of paint may be the next owners idea of a coat of paint that needs to be stripped and redone.

Do it right or don't do it at all!

If you plan on painting it in place, as is, don't do it.

If you are going to remove all hardware, Fill, Sand, Prime, Spray, and Seal; Go for it!
Just don't expect it to add much value to the boat.

Generally speaking, you don't recover the cost of repairs, dollar for dollar. But having the repairs done can be the difference between selling at top retail or as a project/parts boat.

If a boat won't start because "all it needs is" a starter, then pay $100 and fix the starter, and sell the boat turn key. or don't, and sell it for $800 less as a project/risk boat.

Also, if the repairs are done, you have a faster sale, which might equate in savings if you have holding costs. For example, if you pay $75/month storage, a repair job + faster sale is worth $75 a month. If you are coming into a dead season, the faster sale is even more important (avoid your winterizing costs, too).

I say keep cosmetic costs to a minimum but make the boat look like it has been cared for. That's what smart boaters look for.

Good esthetics and full functionality may enhance saleability, but 'worth redoing' is a subjective matter ...

I'll give you $100 sight unseen!!
Real good shape$150. :)

Post pics.
Paint over glass?? Never seems to work,or look right unless you really do it right?

88 Trophy is a good fishing boat.
Small enough to fish shallow and big enough to go offshore.

Then depending on the expertese of the restorer and the cost?
