Flo torq 2 question about half circle tabs on sleeve

I just bought a flo-torq 2 for a new prop but had two questions:

1) Does the part of the sleeve with the four semi-circle tabs go on the inside toward the thrust washer?

2) What is the purpose of those four tabs. It seems like when you tighten the prop nut, those tabs would get crushed by the thrust washer?

they are supposed to crush, its also why proper prop nut torque is critical and never back off the nut to line up cotter pins or retaining tabs.
its also why periodic nut torque checking is nessasary.

Thanks. Which end of the derlin sleeve goes in first towards the thrust washer? The side with the halfmoon tabs or the side without (which is narrower)?
