Wan, I am not sure I understand the question. You can paint the existing floor with marine paint. You can add a non-slip additive to the paint for non-skid floor. Alternatively, you could stick some marine textured flooring (like a bumpy vinyl sheet), on the floor.

if the floor is bad, you need to fix or replace it. They are usually made of 1/2" plywood. The finish on the new plywood floor should be several coats of poly resin and a couple of sheets of light duty cloth. You can add colorant to the resin, and non-slip additives to the final coat of resin.

Here is an idea I borrowed from someone else on the forum about texturing a floor:

Merton (from Mertons.com) had a great idea for gelcoating the floor with a no-skid texture. Put down 1 coat smooth. Tape off an area that you want textured. Mix up some gelcoat with cabasol to a ketchup consistancy. Roll on to taped off area. You will end up with an intense orange peel effect. He had a sample he did and it looks like what I want. I don't like carpet in boats...they always end up moldy and smelly.
