Re: Florida Living!

Why do people make threads like this, or respond to every snow, or winterization thread. Are Floridians THAT insecure????

I think I got it nailed in post #14 and the original poster has not been back

Re: Florida Living!

I NEED my seasons, and like the changes in between. Gotta love Md, Moutnains, the best body of water to boat on in the world(The Mighty Chesapeake), many rivers and the Atlantic ocean.

I used to own 2 rental properties in Cocoa Beach and would come down 2 times a year. Nice place to visit, but not a place to live for me.

You may want to lighten up a bit....read some of these posts. Certainly not started or contributed to by anyone of us "insecure" Florida folks...:)

And what's wrong with a little ribbing, anyway??

Not at all, just curious. They SEEM insecure to me, popping up in every single winterization, or cold, or snow thread. Now if the Ravens lose to the Raiders today, THEN I will accept the cranky label ;)

Re: Florida Living!

this is extremely unusual weather for us, usually no more than 2 nights in a row, and only around 10 freezes total.

I love orange juice, and fear this will hit my pocket.

orange juice, they will get what is ripe off the trees, and immediately processed. what is going to hurt is the strawberries, the were just blooming good. so there will not be a first crop.

Re: Florida Living!

We had already been there all day and were headed back to the homestead...!

As an air force brat I remember some of that Northern clime...2 winters in Maine and that was it. Japan was fun! Most of our time was spent here in Florida, though.

54 yrs here and I think we have found our place to die....

Old Czeck farming community north of Tampa. My kids are nearby. Got a few acres, had room to build a big garage, the fishing is great all year round. I have yet to get eaten up with the bugs, no alligators, the panthers are in the everglades and are protected. Just a few wild black bears over on the other side of the big hwy.

The neighbors are friendly and meet at the community center regularly. Just some of the street names...hviedzoslav...don't roll off the tongue.

Did I say we go fishing whenever we want? What else could a man want??..:)

If this is the "Homestead" I'm thinking about ... man is that finger lickin good southern chicken or not ??? LOL
