flush with soap

Question i was running my 110 johnson on fresh water flush muffs, i heard you can used liquid dis soap to help flush the salt. i removed the hose to each head by the thermostat put liguid soap and reconnect hose start up motor run it on flush, is there another way of running soap through the motor? Thanks for any replys, out of work now do not have money for salt away stuff!

Just running water is good enough, I personally don't see the point in the salt away stuff, I mean it's just salt, it will be flushed out by the freshwater. Just give it enough time to heat up and open the t-stats and fresh water will be running through the entire engine. I've heard of people using the dish soap when they winterize to keep the t-stats from sticking, but haven't really heard of using it for flushing. If you really want to use it you can just pour some into the muffs before you slide them on the motor, or dump some down the hose.
