Flushing Precision Blend system

I have a 99 S150 TXRX that I'm putting on my boat. I was told it sat for about a year. Boat started and ran great, all even compression. No indication that motor wasn't getting proper oil.

My question: is it common practice to flush out the precision blend system after so many years if working properly or what kind of regular maintenance should you do on them?

I've read some on cleaning the filter on remote tank due to clogging, just want to get motor set right before I get out on the water. Any suggestions appreciated.

Re: Flushing Precision Blend system

change the remote filter, tilt the engine up and turn it to port.
cut the tie strap and carfully remove the vynil water trap tube from the engine tank and completly drain the engine tank.
remove the oil level switch and retrieve the seal. clean the filter screen and inspect the tank interior.
DO NOT attempt to clean the tank without removal from the engine.
reassemble with NEW seal following the service manual and test system.
takes an hour or so depending on remote tank access.

Thanks Rodbolt, very helpful procedure. How often would you do this?
