Hot Flywheel is usually a sign of the magnetos rubbing agains one of the coils, when running.

The flywheel must be removed with a flywheel puller pulling the 3 threads and the magneto adjusted. You can see which one has touched.

There isnt really anything under the flywheel to adjust but it never hurts to look to see if something may have gotten inbetween the stator and flywheel. Yes, the flywheel will be hot. It is only cooled by the air and does generate heat as it generates voltage in the stator.

Good luck!

One thing to check if the flywheel is hot, when the rest of the engine hasn't been run, is a shorted rectifier allowing battery current into the stator windings. That generates heat and can make the flywheel very warm to the touch.
