Last week I reported that my 91 Evinrude 115 would start running at high rpms but lose forward motion. It was suggested that the prop hub had spun.
I bought a new prop and installed but the issue continues. The dock master where I launch thinks that my motor is not trimming low enough. He showed he why I could not lower the trim all the way and I cannot find it in my manual.
At the base of the outdrive on the boat's side, there are two circular metal rods pointing upward. These rods appear to stop the trim from lowering against the boat. However the rods appear to be seized in place and not allowing the trim the lower completely.
What are these rods and does this make any sense?
Thanks again.
