Re: for sale

if he is offering a solution to a problem guys, thats not spamming, spam is mass mailing

if he is a con man selling nothing, thats one thing, but hes been here a while, if hes not saying I have everything under the sun, whats the problem?

there was an exhaust snout ... lol, that makes me chuckle .. and our snout doctor had one

I really dont see the problem if iboats doesnt have the item, I assume that the poster, in posting that he couldnt find the part, utilized the resources of iboats first, before making a plea for help

and the man said, no problem, we got em!

cmon already!

This sort of thing just bugs me.

Re: for sale

Ray, I like to help others too, and iboats has said if you are helping someone to locate parts, that iboats doesn't sell, its ok. But that if you are a business, then you should not solicit sales or advertise, unless you are willing to pay for the commercial advertising space here on iboats. Thats how iboats makes a living.
This guy has a dealership. I think there's a difference. Also, the part in question, is readily available from Mercury.

With over 30,000 members, and several hundred that work at, or own boat related businesses, this place would be a zoo if all were on the board pushing their products.

I commend the mods for the job they do, but at times they are spread thin, and have lives of their own, so they can't read every post.

Re: for sale

People come to Iboats for what reason?
1. They seek help.
2. Have no idea where to find parts/and do not wish to be taken advantage of.
3. If I have quoted a price this is because I was asked to.
4. If a price is quoted it is generally to compare a price to one that they have recieved or will recieve so that they are not being taken advantage of.
5. I took my commercial link down when I was requested.
6. I do not mention the name of the business in my reply's, the people are free to email me for further details, if they wish.
7. I have seen the Admirals do it. I will not go as far as Roscoe to point them out...but..this might sound familiar...I have old stock that I can sell off.
8. I do not own a dealership. I do not recieve any commision if a part is sold. I am just trying to help others.

Need I go on?

If my help here is not wanted as read above...I will leave.

TMD
