I have now seen 4 accidents in the last couple of weeks where people have not cleared the frost / snow / ice etc off their windows before setting off on the roads. This morning a vehicle went straight through a stop sign and into the side of a school bus. Luckily nobody hurt this time. The 3 others were minor as well and 2 of them were vehicles driving into parked cars because they could not see them through the 6 inch square that they had cleared on the windshield. Back in 1999 a neighbor's son was killed when he pulled from the side road where he lived onto the main road without having first cleared his windows of frost and ice.
Please everyone concerned take the time to clear your vehicle windows before venturing onto the roads and encourage everybody you know to do the same. Remember.......they could run into one of your loved ones.
I don't care about what is and is not legal relating to this. Just want to try to send a message to everybody and highlight the dangers.
Thanks,
Ken.

Garage.... Don't know what you are talking about!

Seriously, I agree with you. It is so easy to justify, but the calls we get for accidents because of this very thing is amazing. Everyone thinks it is a good idea for others, but they are different, they aren't going that far, or their car warms up quickly, or they can see fine (till the sun hits the windshield), etc.

Take the time and clear your windows! Please! You are valuable to us!

Yup, human nature, I guess, not to fully clear the windows all around the car. Some pay the ultimate price for it. :grumpy:

I have been cut off too many times to count already this year by people that can't see me coming before they pull out of a side street. I want my jeep back just in case.

You would probably be surprised at how much frost we get down here, not much snow or ice... but we get plenty of frost in the mornings... and then it goes up to 55*F by noon!

... so how's your weather?

i believe here in CT it is now law to clear your car, even the roof...considered unsecured load- and when you stop at a light and the roof snow covers your windshield you quickly understand why. dont know if tickets really get written but they should

I was just kidding, mostly. Do you get frost that you have to scrape off or can you just wipe it off?

Had to rub it in, didn't you!? As JB says ......RATZENKRATZ....I think it is, or something like that. :D:eek:

I was chatting with him briefly through iboats a couple of weeks ago. He has relocated to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He has a thread going in the Resto section, another tri-hull but an MFG this time. I was online with my relatives on the Rock. They are really getting socked in. Expecting 80 cm. snowfall. (That's about 3 ft. for our Southern friends)
