I was just kidding, mostly. Do you get frost that you have to scrape off or can you just wipe it off?

When it goes down to 23*F (-5*C in Canadian speak), it's that hard scraping frost. Pretty common when we get a cold front coming down from "you know where".

That said, Newfoundland is certainly hit right now with a good storm....whew!!!....but they can take it!:)

Storm is over now. But we did get quite a bit. Had drifts in my driveway 5ft high. Had to shovel just to get out the door. Took four hours to clean the driveway. Usually only takes about 45 min.

As for the topic from the OP. I totally agree, there should be tickets given for it. Should be serious ticket too, along the same lines as passing a school bus while it is unloading. There is absolutely no reason for it.

I'm still floating around BP. I know one thing, I'm glad I moved away from Newfoundland. I don't miss the snow. I'm safer her in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I don't get on here as much as I want to. I guess by all the American flags I missed the hockey bets. lol. But hey, I'm never too far away, I always check in to see what eveyone is up to. I do have a few iboaters on Facetwit so if anyone wants to look me up, welcome.

I like Kenny's title on this thread. My buddy went fishing here in the frozen north...

TC....good to know your still here and around! Dartmouth...neat! I love Nova Scotia (but not in the winter;))....some great Canadian history back there in new Scotland, makes some of the stuff out here in Victoria look like Walmart history:lol:!
That said, in keeping up the great Victoria, B.C 'Cross Canada' weather update....we had frost last night and the night before....and I think we are going to get some tonight;):D...if this keeps up its going to screw up spring in a few weeks!!
The upside of the cold weather here (so called) is the clear skys.......I love it when the clouds part out here and so does everybody here!! bring on the 'blue'.
All Good
BP:)

Re: For those of us in the frozen north.

In these days when a remote start kit can be bought for 150.00 or less their is no excuse.

Remote start?? A scraper is about three and a half bucks!

Back in the 80's, we would visit friends in Orlando in late June every second year, and they would visit us in Milwaukee on the alternate years. We would go out for deep sea fishing down there; we'd take 'em trolling for salmon on Lake Michigan up here, and do the summer music festivals (Summerfest, et al).

They couldn't believe that I had been scraping ice off my windshield in the mornings just six week before - yes, in May. Not heavy, crusted ice, but ice nonetheless.

Haven't had to do that in over a decade though. Global warming?

The truck I bought this past fall has remote start. First vehicle I've owned that had it. I must say, it's awesome! Now I just need to remember to turn the blower on high and the temp to hot before I leave the truck. My wife hates me because her car doesn't have it.:faint2:

Just plug the beasty in for an hour then let it warm up for a bit.
Defrost takes no time.

(removing the 2 foot of snow on it will though)

Good one, Sasto. My calendar shows the first day of summer on June 21st? That can't be right?

I must have a Canadian calendar:pound:

Or you can use the ole-man's "free" method and lay a crushed diet-coke container on the windshield and just grab it when you're ready to drive. He also uses them in the grille to control his heating costs
