This is a new boat for me and this morning I extended the tilt/trim up to a full position. Motor is up as far as it will go manually or otherwise. The problem is it will not go down. I know this is a beginner question, but I could use a little mentoring here. I cannot see a lock of any kind, but is there something I am missing? the pump runs in both directions, but no movement. It is a 1992 Force 120 hp. thanks in advance, Erik.

There usually is a lock right above the pivot point, but I've never owned a Force. Good luck.

Check on the right side on the pivot bracket. On mine there is a pin that slides horizontal to lock it in the full up position. It's not spring loaded, so it may be catching.

It does make sense that there is a lock, but I can see nothing that looks like it is in the way. RAVEN 7: Do you own this engine? I am thinking of unscrewing the plug on the square junction block that faces out. (as opposed to the 4 that faces down)
In my head this should release the pressure and lower the engine. Should be useable in lowered position I think. Sound right?

When standing behind the engine look on the right side. You will see a flat piece of metal about halfway up on the engine. There is a slot in this piece that guides the motor. Once you get the motor in full tilt the metal piece drops onto the pin locking it in this position. You have to lift the motor and then lift the metal piece to release. See picture.

Netjunky, going out and taking the time to snap a picture is above and beyond, thank you. I do not have the piece you are refering too however. I have to believe there is something stuck in the cylinders or they are extended past the point of return. On top of it all my pump suddenly does not even try anymore. I am going to have the relays checked tomm. I am beginning to think this is going to be expensive.

sometimes your year gets pressure lock. It happens if you run pump after engine has reached full extension. The pump can not change directions if there is too much pressure keeping shuttle from moving. If this is your problem then loosen the tube going to back of trim (the short fat one) to relieve the pressure and everything should work again.
