I have a 1994 Force 120 O/B that is giving me some problems. The engine will run fine for a period of time 20-30 mins. Then it will begin cutting out/sputtering at WOT. The problem will progressively get worst until I can't even get the boat to plane out anymore. The engine starts fine (for a Force). It also idles with no problems even at high RPMs while in neutral.
So far, I have checked the spark (good) and went ahead and replaced the plugs as good measure. I have also rebuilt the Carbs(they were pretty nasty), and ran the engine with a seperate gas tank. There was some water in the tank, so I added a seperator and drained the tank. I have a clear fuel filter and don't see any trash. Also compression check is good.
When it starts sputtering, I have pulled the cowl off and can see gas spraying in the carbs and the primer bulb stays firm so I haven't suspected a fuel pump issue yet (but I might go into it next anyways, even though it was rebuilt just last year.)
I'm going to go back into the carb bowl and see if I pulled anything into them again prior to using the seperate tank and installing the seperator.
I'm kind of at a loss right now. Please help.
Kyle
