Force 120 starter, 1995

Hi, Guys.

Last time out the starter wouldn't engage the flywheel. Is there anything that I can do to lube or loosen the shaft? Or is the starter shot? Once I pried a wrench under the collar it fired right up. Is this a prelude to something more perminent happening? What should I look at first? Or should I just change the whole thing all together? It spins, but would not rise up meet the flywheel. The battery has plenty of juice.

WD40 worked for me, after charging the batt.

yep wd40 worked for me also, give the bendix a shot of wd
