1988 Force 50hp. Got it cranked finally. Doesn't crank every time though. When it does it only stays cranked for a couple seconds.
Cleaned carb. Replaced float needle. Adjusted float. Cleaned fuel filter at fuel pump. Replaced fuel pump diaphragm. Adjusted air mix screw 1 1/4 turns out from lightly seated. Idle screw out 1 1/2 from lightly seated. Both plugs have good spark. Compression is supposed to be between 130-150. I tested it at between 110-120.
Could the low compression keep the fuel from pumping? Also there are a couple wires I noticed that were allowed to sit on the block and the insulation is burned in a couple of areas. The wires I noticed burned connect to something under the flywheel. Could an electrical issue cause it to not run?
Thanks
