Force 50 spark problems and stator problem confirmation

I purchased 2 Force 50hp motor neither running, the 1995 supposedly has a bad stator and the 1992 ish (oe068521) has parts missing. I swapped parts around for the afternoon thinking i would surely get the 1995 going with 2 sets of ignition parts, all i got was very weak or no spark. All i have for testing is a fluke 179 meter so the following is from that.

trigger, in range, 842 ohm
both coils in range, 910 ohm

I think both of these stators are junk but wanted confirmation as i am pretty sure i need to order one.

stator 1995 blue to blue/w 388ohm (out of range), red to red/w 94ohm really close
stator 1992 blue to blue/w open , red to red/w 92 ohm

Thanks for your input.

Re: Force 50 spark problems and stator problem confirmation

To check the 1992 to 1995 50HP stators, you read Blue to ground (3250 - 3650 OHMs) and Red to ground (75 - 90 OHMs). I'm pretty sure there is a separate ground wire on the 1992 t0 1995 stators.

You don't check between the Red and Red/White and Blue and Blue/White wires on this particular stator.

Thanks for the quick reply.
All of the wires 2 yellow, red, red/w, blue, blue/w are all open to ground. there is also no ground wire. I got my specs from CDI electronics DVA chart. (pg. 3) where it shows testing between reds and blues. According to this i will be buying a stator. I was just hoping for some confirmation before the purchase.
CDI

thanks again G

I looked at the CDI chart and I see what you are referring to. The chart that I have doesn't even reference the Blue/White and Red/White wires for checking the resistance. I see them on the diagrams. So in your case, I would be inclined to follow the CDI chart, since your stators do not have a separate ground wire. Based on that, I would say both of those stators are bad.
