I'm looking at trying to keep up with what I perceive as regular maintenance. Can any one tell me what I should really do to make sure to keep my older 18' bayliner with a Force 90HP motor running.

I'm also trying to find a sight where I review manuals for this motor.

Currently I'm:

Changing the gapless sparkplugs
Adding seafoam to every fill up and winter storage (on my property)
Changing the lower end oil (annualy on startup)

I noticed that it is running a little rough and sometimes hard to get started. At the end of last year on the last trip the motor would not get up to any spped past idel without stalling. Any guidence would be greatly apprciated. I'm new to this sight as of today.

Regards,

Chris

How your fuel pump and fuel line. You should put a fuel filter inline from fuel pump to carbs.

Re: Force 90HP Maintenance Questions

First, buy a Clymer's Force repair manual.

Change the gear oil in the fall, before it freezes outside. If there is water in the gearcase, it will freeze and crack the case.

Rebuild the fuel pump.
Replace the impeller.
Replace thermostat.
Remove the prop, grease the prop shaft.
Grease the tilt tube and pivot tube.
Replace fuel line and primer bulb.

Clean out carbs.
