force cd igniton #

I hope this is the last time I have to ask for help , but I have been working on my force 50hp<br />and narrowed my problem down to the cd ignition.. now my problem starts ..after <br />looking on a few websites to order a new unit I thought I had the part #....116-3301..<br />that seemed to match up with my model # ..then I came across a few sites that listed <br />part# 166-8301 that covered all 50hp motors for that year. im not so sure what one to get now .<br />it is a 98 50hp ..model 507x9b serial# 2728. any help??

98 would be the #166 munber, just because the 116 series is from the late 80's,to early 90's,(which are blue BTW).<br /><br />Called "Prestolite Ignition" in the book.

I goofed it wasnt 166-8301 it was 116-8301 .<br />and it is a bright blue color but so were a couple of the 116-3301's that I saw on diferent parts pages .. im so confused ..

You have a 1989 model, not a 1998.<br /><br />50hp 507X9A-D = 1989

My 88 lived its life always with two blues and two years ago one failed. Probably not the first time. Now its black and blue but runs well. You know the saying, "Any port in a storm". Used CD's are half price or less.
