ok guys im popping on to get some advise on this. I have a 76 stripped and rebuilt 75 hp chrysler motor 757HB. its going on to replace a 1989 507Y9B underpowered 50. wiring harness on the boat to the 50 that's leaving is as follows. pics attached. top to bottom
start yellow/red
tach gray/black
stop black
choke yellow/black
heat beige
the rest have nothing from harness attached.
there is a blue/white and a green/white wire both not attached. this is factory engine that came with boat.

the 75 hp Chrysler moving in has as follows
top start
generator ??? 50 has no lead for gen
tach
choke
heat
battery
ignition
ground.

the ignition switch is a 6 terminal push to choke I installed due to lost keys a few years ago but basically that's what was in it prior. basically I need to know what to do with the stop lead from harness and the Chrysler has the generator spot?? but no wire on harness.

am I gonna need a new ignition switch harness? more wires or can this be done with what I have. obviously heat choke start all go to their common buy the gen ect I need advise. thanks guys and gals.

They take 2 different ignition switches.
So I doubt one's gonna work for the other.
I think it was in the late 70's or early 80's the outboard/ boat manufacturers went to wire
standardization.
Best bet is find a wiring diagram for the 75 or get a harness from a salvage yard??

I had the remote harness about 4 foot anyway. attached the color coded wires to run to the front terminal block. had to buy the green and white but the rest I had . working construction helps since I bring home lots of goodies they toss. but the diagram has a 6 terminal switch as does the force 50. so the purple lead to the front is just a gauge lead then correct? like the tach (my boat doesn't have) nor has a voltage gauge. im running them anyways in case I decide to add. the diagram shows them dead at the terminal. I do have the overheat buzzer and light for the orange. im assuming the purple and whire are there only if the gauges are present.

Purple for power to the gauges.
Make sure the overheat buzzer works.

want to give you a big thanks you have helped me prob not even remembering 6-7 times over the years with questions and problems with my 50 hp force. couple years back you helped me figure out the re circ plate reeds on the fuel pump side were clogged causing the engine to loose power after a few min of WOT! anyways I made a new harness and ran it to the ignition. little playing and I got it figured out. this was todays outcome. and yes I have discussed the buzzer with you long ago. I believe someone on here possibly you sent me one back in 2012. and I also added a light to the buzzer for a fail safe back then. the late frank *** timing and carb video really helped me setting this rebuild up. watched it again today and re set timing as the belt had a split and I replaced a couple weeks back. I tore this one down and rebuilt it new rings head gaskets and new seals and gaskets throughout. you commented many times with questions about rings seals ect a couple years ago. finally putting it on the boat. had it running 2 summers ago right after I rebuilt it. but since sat on a stand. I did all the work but thanks to you guys answering and making videos this is the results people who re mechanically handy can have. now this weekends test run needs to go smooth. I let it idle for about an hour today with just a bit of throttle here and there. never died or missed a beat. I paid $150 for a pair of these 757 hb engines that one was seized one free. I put in my time but ones back to the land of the living. even gave it a paint job to match the boat.

Nice work.

thanks. thing did great today. the starter clutch is giving me a hard time other than that we were out a few hrs today and a couple hrs was at wot. didn't miss a beat or die once. the fuel lines a bit short and pinches a little on left turns. starves the engine a bit. that a quick fix though. short vid of it running. I plan on a restore thread. I have lots of pics from the day I got it from the salvage yard to the day I started it. the 98 force 50 small pin drive lower ran at its best low on fuel at 23. with me in it. the woman and kids get in its 5-6. today we had a full tank 20 (gals)5 of us in it and the top up at the end and still ran 30 on plane. totally different boat now.
