I have a 1988/ 85hp ouboard force motor without a tilt/trim.
I've been offered a 135hp force (black) (1988 or newer?) with a trim, that has a blown piston in it. Can somebody tell me if the trim or any other part is usfull for me to use on my 85hp? like the coils, prop, tilt/trim etc.....
I do not know the year of the 135 yet so this may be a bit premature but I know it is black not white.

Re: force outboard tilt/trim compatibility

all 85-150HP Force engines prior to 1992 used the same trim systems. The oil tubing was made longer or shorter to match the size of the reservoir. 3w motors typically had a shorter reservoir with longer tubes while 2w typically had a larger reservoir with shorter tubes. Many aftermarket motors have large reservoirs regardless of motor and great care must be taken not to strip valve body ports. The wiring harness installed at factory will be for either 2w or 3w. It is a relatively easy matter to re-wire a boat from one to the other. A 2w wiring harness with relays should cost about $30. 3w motors wire directly to a switch but often need $20-$30 in heavy gauge cable. Otherwise the trim systems are fully interchangeable from year to year prior to 1992.

Figure out the year of the Black 135.I'm not sure that Force made a 135 after the 70's.A 125 yes they did.135 from 68-77.
I don't think the trim will work but post some pics.J

He did not get the Model # unfortunatly.
I hope this helps in my quest.

If the transom bracket has the same mounting bolts for pump then it will fit.
