Force woes

Hi all Im new to this so bare with me I am the proud owner of a Force forty outboard . Its been standing for a year and it wont crank properly only very slowly .Iv taken the plugs out and it spins much quicker,there are two new plugs and i have checked and theres a good spark ,Last year I had the head off and cleaned up and refitted and fired ,cleaned carbs with cleaner and presure air ,reed valves soaked and cleaned whats happening please anyone: :confused::confused:

Hi, Gavetron,

Welcome to iboats. :)

Overhaul all of the battery wiring. Give special attention to where the battery ground cable bolts to the engine block. Looking okay and tight is not good enough. Take apart and clean every connection.

That is the most common cause, starters do go weak, but cost bux to fix. Fixing corroded connections is free.
