Ok not a Boat topic so I think that is what Dockside chat forum is for.

My Positive terminal battery connector became corroded on my 2004 F250 and I had to cut it off.

There are 3 thick Positive wires that was connected to a single battery terminal.

The battery terminal block looks Ford OEM. It allows the 3 positive cables to connect to it. I wish I had picts to show you.

Where can I get a Single Terminal battery connector that allows the 3 cables to hook up to the 12V Battery.

Thanks.

Re: Ford 250 Battery Terminal

Best thing AZ for you to do is go to ford and buy a new one, there are a few other options but the best is to just get a new one, its manufactured cables and all.

But if your going to be persistent about it and since your a Zonie I know you are(I am too just living in Colorado) you could simply purchase a 2 gauge battery cable with a factory installed battery post terminal on one end and a ring terminal on the other, then purchase an insulated post (pic provided) and then reterminate your corroded lines and terminate to the insulated post, this is sometimes a better option since it relocates the wires away from the battery and all the acid and corrosion that comes with batteries.

You should be able to find insulated posts at NAPA or any DECENT auto parts store

Found a Picture like the one I cut off.

I now have 3 Positive cables with 1 inch of Bare Wire.

Trying to find something to connect all three wires to that connect to the Battery + Post.

Sometimes I shouldn't do things my self.

There is a military battery terminal clamp (comes in both sizes NEG+POS) and will easly accept multiple eye/ring lug connectors.

You could try soldering the three together leaving the most convenient one long enough to insert into a standard one wire clamp.

Have to be careful soldering, the wires become stiff and increase the chance of breaking off due to vibration/shock. Lipp has a good idea because the OEM (read $$$$) 3 wire cable has probably 1 or 2 of the wires going into the harness and means you either cut the harness apart or tie the replacement on the outside of the harness. Lipp's insulated post is a better way and will save you money in the long run and just as reliable.

LIpp Im not sure if I can replace the Cables myself at the starter.

RBH I know Auto Stores sells the Eye Ring Lug Connectors but how would I terminate my bare end wires.

Food Fisher I do not have a way to solder the 3 cables together. Besides there is to much cable to fit into a Single wire Terminal connector.

Thanks for the Help.

Re: Ford 250 Battery Terminal

well you can buy the HD ring connectors and put them on.

(but you do need the crimping tool .:redface:)

How about removing the leads, taking them to a shop that has the connectors and crimper?? :)

All good Ideas. I like the Eye rings but need a way to crimp. I wonder how much crimping tools are because I would like to do the same for the boat.

As long as the wires are the same size that will work fine.

True.

The two wires Circled in red are the same size and the Orange circled wire is a little thinner. Any Idea of the Gauge by the Picture?

I should have just taken the truck to the Shop. What a drama I created for my Self.

I would have to guess that the red circled wires are around 4 gauge and the other maybe 6
