forum search problems

Taking the suggestions for new posters in mind, I try to search for relevant posts before starting a new thread, however this is very time consuming because once I get a number of returned matches and read one of them, I can't return to the page with my matches and have to enter the search again. My browser's back button seems to be disabled on this board. I can't save a search and I can't even save a forum start page in my favorites, it just takes me back to iboats home page. This is by far the best bulletin board I have found and I would love to be able to cruise it more effectively
Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

Jim

Re: forum search problems

Hi CimmaronJim

That's a good point and a good question.

What I do when clicking on a link from a page that I want to return to, is click with the Right mouse button instead of the Left. This will pop-up a menu, from which I choose "Open in New Window". What that will do, is leave the orginal page within the orginal window of your browser and pop-up a new browser window with the new page on it. That way, when you're finshed reading the article - you just close the window and return to the original window.

In brief;

1. Right-click the link
2. Select "Open in New Window"
3. Read the post
4. Close the browser window
5. Right-click the next link.

Hope this helps...
