Do a compression test on it...

A Diagnostic tune up is to discover the Problem, rather than just Replacing Parts...
Oil pressure on the limp in would be nice...
with 1/2 power gone i could not get up on plane basically
That could be a fuel delivery issue...

The Pressure Release is the Real Question....

edit,... You were editing as I was typing,...
A compression test can be done so long the motor isn't Torn Down...
Just put a breaker bar with a socket on it on the bolt on the crankshaft pully and turn it over by hand. Won't be to hard to turn over with all the spark plugs out. Look for a close reading between all cylinders.
'ell,... Bolt the starter on,+ turn it with a battery...

I never had the 4 cylinder, only v6 & v8. Isn't the center of the crank threaded so you could put a bolt in it to turn over? Like Bondo said you could hook 12 volts to the starter to rotate. Or any bolt on the other end of the crank that you could turn it over with. You don't need to turn it fast to check it.
