MY, just right click your picture and then click copy and then go to your folder and paste it.
It will transfer it to the folder for you that way.
It did for me anyway.

MY,

Try putting your disk in the drive, calling up the photos. They should show up as icon's. Pic and drag the icons you want over on top of your folder.

This should copy it into the folder. ;)

FTP101:

Easy way to do it, is to use Internet Explorer to FTP

ftp://66.136.189.194

It should ask you for a username/password iboats for both

(if it does not ask, right click, "login as"

Once you are in, you should see everyone's folders. Simply right and select "Make new folder" Give it a name. If you hit enter, and it just says "new folder" Right click that new folder and click "rename" and name it to your name. Do not use spaces!

Make your Internet Explorer window NOT full screen. Move it to one side. Now Drag your pictures into your new folder.

To VIEW the pictures you have put up, you need to go to the same directory you just created, but via HTTP and not FTP

so... http://66.136.189.194/iboats
that will show you the directory listing for iboats, you can then click on your name, click on your picture, and copy and paste the link... then come to the forum and insert that inside [img tags so everyone can see it :)

seems like a long way to go to get a picture online, but that's what it takes, and once you do it and understand it, it's really pretty quick.

Another method is to go to www.download.com and download yourself an FTP client. you put in the ftp address, username and password, and you can select files you want to upload... might make it easier for you.

Re: Free Picture Hosting for iboats members Revisited

Is there a server problem with this site, or is it no longer usable. I uploaded a pic and have tried several times to make the picture load in a new post in the fishing forum and can't make it work. I pulled up a prior post where I made pics work and the file name looks like its good. Thanks

Matt

NDEMGE, you sir are the man. Relatively new at this internet stuff, but followed your directions and I now have pictures that work.TY.TY.TY.I am currently restoring a 17' sloop to go gunkholing in and would like to document the restoration in progress. Now I have the means. Will post some pictures as soon as it stops raining. But hey it's 70 Degrees, can't complain.Be good and fair winds.
