I think those are fold down helm seat bracket anchors, those that I've seen had a folding leg set to support them on the aisle side of the seat, not pedestals.

might check the Garelick site (jump seats, tables, etc etc). EEz-in would be one of theirs.

(edit.....but was unable to match up a bracket for their products. Hinges look like they might be for the original helm seat jbcurt pictures, but the sliding bracket is a puzzler. Maybe added by a PO for a table for use when the helm seat was folded down. Could be kind of useful -- might use the same leg support as the seat[?])

btw, my bennett tabs have a pair of white bow up/bow down switches at the helm, so might look for that. If mechanism in place, could fill that reservoir with ATF and see if the system is functional, while looking around for replacement tabs. Mine had some leaking, but just a matter of tightening a joint or two in the lines.

Yeah, I don't know the answer yet. Same slide and hinge on both sides of the boat. I spent alot of time looking at google images trying to see other similar John Allmand boats to see what they had but no joy so far.

Here is a pic I found on the net that shows the seats and supports I'm looking for. Somebody tell me if you know where to find this.

its a boat, nothing economical about them unless powered by oars or sails.

that's the best laugh I've had all day!!!
She's gonna luv fuel too, those dual feed lines into the carb are not there for decoration. Might not be that bad, but should produce some power... if your ignition is hot enough, and probably is.
I forget what year MasterCraft an old friend had???? but it had 351W I rebuilt for him - it fired in reverse from cars. Good luck with the boat!!! looks GRRRREAT!!

There is a website for Allmand Boats -- think I would check it for background and contact info. It could be the same family yet (John Allmand). Think I saw early '60s in Florida. Check out any google links, forums (search this one), maybe boat owner's groups. The company might be able to provide info on that bracket and seat, if you can get some interest. Garelick co. too, as there might be a connection. Show the pics if you get a contact.

Pic you just posted should indicate it's a proprietary mount -- could be very unique to Allmand. The seat looks like it might be mounted on a sliding base that could allow fore and aft movement, along with the ability to fold it down -- guessing. (Legs should fit into sockets on the underside of the seat base, as you probably know. Same as on my Trojan F26 and many other boats.)

In the process, you will probably learn a load about John Allmand boats.

good luck. (good project.)

So, my boat has 2 banks of batteries, 2 batteries in each bank, 4 total batteries. All 4 batteries are charged. There is a Perko battery switch. When the switch is in postion 1, I can start the engine. When in postion 2 or all, engine will not turn over. (no power to starter) This is not how it should work is it?

the Laffer Curve? trickle down economics? something....something?? sorry, what was the question?

never touch questions on battery switches, but have some experts here. I tend to leave them on "both", which defeats one of the purposes (i.e., fish and play the stereo all day, then have a battery to start the motor). Can say, with a two bank system (with two batteries), "both" allows starting (and charges both). The setting doubles up the amp hours, but draws on both. Guessing, two parallel banks with two each in parallel would operate the same. "1" or "2" gives you two batteries, "both" gives you four. Wait for better advice (and a diagram or two). May want to post a thread over in electronics.

edit. "voodoo economics......"

My boat was free too...
Looks like a really nice project. I'm gonna follow along if you don't mind.

Your battery switch is wired incorrectly.

Wouldn't be a surprise. Most of the wiring, switches, and gauges are a mess.

On a positive note. The boat cleaned up really well, I haven't found any soft spots other than one hatch cover, and the Engine sounds awesome.

Should only take about 20 minutes to correct the battery switch
