Im really getting fed up with this state! (OREGON), I was born and raised here but am seriously thinking about moving! Too Liberal for me!! <br /><br />So where in these united states that has good fishing, hunting, great weather, and good quality of life, do you think is the best place to live???<br /><br />Please, No huricanes, or tornados!!<br /><br />LubeDude

AZ has Bugs, BIG BUGS, Really BIG BUGS <br />Pretty country though. I almost moved there once. Also has a lake that I couldn't sink in.<br /><br />TX has Cowboys, BIG COWBOYS..Has one of them running the Country right now. Should be good for another 5 years! Ignore Plywoody, he is trolling.<br /><br />Texas has bugs, snakes, scorpions, tornados, HEAT (like AZ) and knee slapping, frog strangling thunderstorms. We keep them to scare away those wimpy Liberals.<br /><br />It doesn't have a state income tax. The other state taxes are a fraction of what is typical in the "other 49".<br /><br />I also has great fishing, lots of lakes, large areas of peace and quiet, low cost of high-quality living and lots of job opportunities.<br /><br />Freedom is the State Religion. We resent the "other 49" taking away the best Governor we have had since Sam Houston.<br /><br />Come on down and check us out, LubeDude. :)

I've was in TX once, get ready to fry outdoors in the summer! Then get eaten alive by 2inch killer bugs that will eat yu up :eek: :D <br /><br />From the little I know about the state, I like the way its run. The people seemed cool too, I just didn't like the heat. Maybe its better when its not summer.<br /><br />If I could live anywhere it would be Maine in the summer and Florida in the winter.....but I'm stuck here in sh!tty mass for now :p I may just become a masshold and join the crew :D <br /><br />Good luck.

I'm sick of Oregon and it's taxes and P.O.S. Liberals too.<br /><br />Arizona is way too hot for me, and I like my oceans thanks...<br /><br />I think I'm Alaska bound. <br />Plenty of animals to eat, and tons of fish.<br />A bit cold, but I can always find ways to stay warm. :D <br /><br />H.

Lubedude, I have a lot of respect for you....if you don't like it here, move. I was born here and have lived here all my high fifty some years. The state is going to hell in a handbasket due to too dam* many right wing fanatics who want something for nothing or who want to pi** in their yard and don't care if it runs into mine. Get the he!! out and take homerrrr, whom I have NO respect for, with you.

Wow, Well, Lived in AZ once for about two years! Mesa, Had some nice lakes, too hot there though! Was surprised how beautiful it was up in the white mountains! Hard to find a purtier place!<br /> Everyone told us we would never leave now that we were there, Sorry, they were wrong!! If we could get a Rep. Govenor, Like Mannix, (almost made it)This would be heaven on earth! I guess I will hold out a little longer! Much to Old Sailors disaproval. I can get to the other two Bass lakes hear on the coast, (Siltcoos and Taukenitch in 30 min. and I live on the other ones! Ten mile lakes! Besides, If we all move out it will really become a mess!! Hey JB:<br />Was just down to Houston in early October. Flew down, with a friend to pick up a Burb he bought on Ebay. A little ways out of Houston we saw a road sign for a Texas BBQ joint. We stopped and ate. It was a great example of the famed Texas BBQ. After eating I went to the john. I kid you not, I had to stand on my tip toes to use the urinal and I'm 6'1". I walked up to the counter and said "This is my kinda place. I heard that everything in Texas is supersized, but I want to see the Texan that that urinal was built for" :D

What do you mean by "good weather"?<br />I can't take the heat, so I will put up with WI winters.<br /><br />Lets see, 14,000 lakes, plus Lakes Michigan and Superior, and the Mississippi.<br />We slaughtered over 340,000 whitetails this fall, plus 9,000 more with our cars. <br />Our property taxes are high, but we get a high level of services in return.<br />They don't tax us to death on every little thing.<br />Our state constitution guarrantees the right to fish and hunt.<br />Central WI winters are not bad.<br /><br />TX is nice, but I would need to find a cool dry corner to hide in.

That's who all the Oregon Governers and the likes of Vera Katz (when she passes please send her back to new york where she belongs) cater too. It's those with the big L in front of their ism that have Oregon nearly bankrupt. It's also those Legislators with the R in front of their names who are really L's in disquise who are complicit in the fiscal mess your state is in. It's all because they want to be so Fair and Kind and Diverse that they are spending your state into oblivion.<br /><br />Oregon needs a few more (make that a lot more) Homerrs and Lubedudes who don't want to p**s in your yard or their own while the likes of a Psuedo cowboy Kitzhaber rifles their back pockets. <br /><br />I think you need to get your isms straightened out.

I do get a kick out of all the poor Oregon whiners. For years they financed the schools and such out of timber sales revenue, which everyone knew was not sustainable long term.<br />Once those revenues started to dry up, and Oregon had to start paying for their services, the whining began.<br /><br />Michigan has a comparable income tax to Oregon, and we also have a sales tax. Things are just not that bad in Oregon, I am afraid. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Have you considered Cuba. Lots of people around here think that is the way to live. Free healthcare, tropical climate, 100% employment, freedom from religion. All your decisions are made for you. Good fishing. Hell, its a regular utopia. One downside its the hotel California, you can check out anytime you want but you can never leave.

gaugeguy,<br /><br />The taxes on my parents home in Westmoreland, NH are $1800/ year.<br /><br />My taxes at my home in Oakdal, NY are $12,800/ year.<br /><br />Taxes on the house on Fire Island, $26,500!!<br /><br />So the way I see it, the taxes in NH are cheap.
