Called the guy today and I am waiting for a call back.......Man this is driving me crazy. I bet stuff similat to this happens all the time and people use thir boats for a few trips to the water and then they experience drive problems etc.....Interesting. <br />I hope I am in the clear.

How should the outdrive be left? <br />Is it ok to leave it exposed to the winter (snow and Rain) . Should a bag be wrapped around it?

Leave it open and down. A bag would also eventually fill up with water. With the drive down, the exhaust housing will not fill with water and it's easier on the bellows.

Gen II legs have many water traps in them, so cycle the leg up and down a few times to try and get it all out.

so on my OMC King I can just leave it exposed but have it down the whole way Don? I hope so because that is what I did. and should I have drained the lower oil?

Yes, the drive should be down, and yes you should have changed the drive oil, not just drain it. No reason to leave the drive set there empty.
