Frozen F-N-R gear shift in Yamaha 4HP 2007 F4MSH
My 2007 F4MSH 4HP gear shift selector is frozen in neutral and will not move or enguage. The prop spins free both ways. The pull start cord is locked and the shifter is locked so I believe that the "start-in-gear" protection is enguaged even though the handle is in the neutral position. The motor is in good condition and runs good and only has a few hours on it. This problem must be with the linkage or gears which block the motor from starting.
Any advice would be appreciated or a copy of a service manual for this model so I can guess about what is happening inside.
