Really--- how important is the well back valve or spit back valve as some call it, when I can't get gas into the tank and it spits back anyway, it seems to me to be a useless device, I hope someone has some advice on this (I checked all slumpy hoses and vents are clear) gas is very slow going in

Can’t be that important. Had to look it up to see what it was.

Did you remove the vent lines and blow air back through them? Didn’t takes much to restrict?

Don't know what a spit back valve is but the take will have a vent line attached which gas can spit back if not installed correctly. Note the vent line should have no loops in it where gas can get trapped in it. If gas gets trapped there will be no place for the air to come out.

My Rinker starts spitting once the tank gets close to full because the fill is not very high. Pic shows for epa reg, but yours could have just a stright line

check if you have a carbon canister in the vent line.

if the carbon canister had fuel in it, the carbon pellets swell and block off the line
